A long-lasting connection

When someone deals as thoroughly ans successfully in technical hoses and fittings as we have been doing for more than 60 years, they are truly well versed in safe and durable connections. This applies to our products, but it applies just as much to our long-term relations with our customers and suppliers.

Walter Gondrom founded the company in Cologne in 1955 and at that stage the trade with technical hoses was already the focal point.

Hans-Joachim Kalesse took over Gondrom in 1970. It developed into a successful medium-sized company which was relocated to Cologne-Lövenich five years later, because larger warehousing areas aand more office space was needed to meet the increased requirements.

The company changed its name to Walter Gondrom GmbH & Co. KG in 1996. Management was transferred from Hans-Joachim Kalesse to Gabriele Kalesse and Frank Gerdell in 1999. The warehouse area was increased for the third time halfway through 2000, to meet the increased demands imposed by the product range and logistics.

Soon our most imortant clients consisted of both domestic and foreign trailer manufacturers and forwarding companies. Liquid or powdery goods transporters increasingly equipped their vehicles with Gondrom fittings. Gondrom established a subsidiary in the Netherlands to accommodate the intensive customer contacts in the Benelux States. A subsidiary has existed in France in Pacé, close to Rennes since 1999.

The company Zinnikus was taken over in 2010 due to the continious growth. Godrom has always been a specialist in the powder industry. To accommodate the needs of the liquid industry even more, the company Industrie Technik Kling was integrated into the Gondrom group. In January 2015 a new warehouse was built to expand the storage area.

On 01.07.2021, the long-standing managing director Frank Gerdell entered a new phase of his life and handed over his office to Alexander Gehle. However, Frank Gerdell Gondrom remains as a consultant.

As part of a legal realignment, Walter Gondrom Großhandel in technischen Gummiwaren und Armaturen GmbH & Co. KG and Gondrom Beteiligungs-GmbH were merged in August 2021 and then traded under the name of Walter Gondrom GmbH. In August 2022, Walter Gondrom GmbH was merged with Rubix GmbH and has been trading as Rubix GmbH ever since.

Apart from the trailer manufacturing and forwarding industry, we haven been able to successfully contact industrial users and establish our products within their field.

We have consistently made the customers and his individual requirements our focal point. What do we have to offer? Efficiency, high and continiously controlled quality, great value for money, flexibility and commitment, even if special solutions are required. And today? We are the original supplier for renowned European manufacturers of tankers and silo trailers. Gondrom is one of the leading companies in this market sector – a challenge we are proud to face on a daily basis, with quality products and willingness to perform.

Committed to quality and the environment

We are particularly committed to the quality of our products and performance. Gondrom was the first company in the industry to introduce a quality management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9002 in 1992. In 2002 we were certfified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000. The certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 has been valid since April 2017.

We operate our own test equipment where our products have to meet our high standards. Of course we are also aware that a high quality standard can only be upheld by our staff´s continious commitment. That is why our employees participate regularly in in-house and external training programs. They are a basic component of our policy.

Environmental aspects were a major influence on quality evaluation at an early stage. The environmental compatibility of product and packaging is an important criterion.

The focal point: mankind

Naturally, not only the product is in the foreground. More than ever before, comprehensive consulting and close customer contact are a part of a successful business relationship today. That is the reason we pay particular attention to our consulting competence. Fast communication is just as important as the efficiency which our customers know they can trust.

The customer generally meets his Gondrom consultant at his own site, where tasks and solutions, such as modifications of existing products or special productions, are prerequisited.

A high qualification and the extensive know how of Gondrom staff have alwas been indispensable. Continious staff training is therfore a special concern of Gondrom. Further more, we have been a successful training company for many years.

Excellent ex stock

What our customers particularly appreciate: almost every item in our range can be delivered ex stock. What you order today will generally be on its way today. Not without reason do we place considerable importance on our warehouse logistics and optimum dispatch processing.
